Seattle development in June 2026, with the construction permits the city issued, the ones it finaled and the projects that won their land use approval.
June produced the biggest construction permit of the year so far. A $33 million, 169 unit building in Fremont pulled its construction permit, the largest by permit value on the 2026 record. Two smaller sites had construction permits issued alongside it, three buildings had their construction permits finaled, and three projects won their land use approval.
Construction permits issued
Three projects had their construction permit issued in June, together adding 261 units.
The month's largest construction permit by far is for 508 N 36th St in Fremont, a seven story, 169 unit building whose issued permit is worth about $33 million. It is the newest of several mid rise projects in Fremont, which we covered in what is being built in Fremont. The other two, in First Hill and Ballard, are smaller infill buildings.
Construction permits finaled
Three buildings had their construction permits finaled in June, 268 units in all.

The two big deliveries, 139 units downtown and 120 units on Lake City Way, are mid rise buildings that take two to three years to construct. The third, in the International District, added nine units.
Land use permits issued
Three projects had their master use permit issued in June. Together they add 287 units.
The 180 unit building at 3670 Woodland Park Ave N is a second major Fremont project entering the pipeline, one block off the Stone Way corridor.
New projects filed
Four new development applications were filed in June. Two of them are 603 3rd Ave W in Queen Anne and 4244 11th Ave NE in the University District, with two more in Lake City and Roosevelt. Each of these will go through a year or more of review before it can get a construction permit.
