3923 120th Ave SE

One geotechnical boring will be completed on 120th Avenue SE between the Newport Presbyterian Church driveway and SE 40th Lane. The boring will be subcontracted by Haley & Aldrich and drilled by Holocene Drilling. Planned working hours are between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. Planned equipment will be one track-mounted drill rig, trailer, and two support trucks. Drilling will consist of using a 6-inch diameter auger to drill up to 150 feet deep, collecting soil samples every approximately 5 feet. The borehole will be backfilled using bentonite chips or bentonite grout, and the surface of the pavement will be restored using Quikrete patch. Fieldwork is expected to occur in March, over approximately a week, during daytime hours and weekdays only. The applicant spoke to Isack Habte on the phone on 1/16/2025 to verify that the described work could be permitted in a no-cut street. Mr. Habte indicated the work should be permitted as long as it was complete prior to the start of a City repaving project in May 2025.
